One of the storylines heading into Saturday's WBA welterweight title showdown between Rolly Romero and Teofimo Lopez on DAZN PPV and Prime Video has been that they had sparred together in the past.
But who won those sessions, and how many times did Romero and Lopez share the ring? Those questions were partially answered on Wednesday after the Media Workout on The Showdown, where each guy took a lie detector test.
When asked if rumors were true that Lopez got the better of him, Romero didn't hesitate whatsoever.
"Yes,' Romero said emphatically. "In one session. But, yes.
The person studying the waves said Romero "was the most honest person that has ever been sitting in that chair."
None of that matters to Romero (17-2, 13 KOs) because the result will be different on fight night.
"Yes," Romero bluntly said when asked if he'd successfully defend his belt for the first time.
The WBA welterweight title is on the line as Rolly Romero and Teofimo Lopez face off this Saturday, August 22, live on DAZN.
