Another week of blockbuster boxing action is done and dusted, with 2026 continuing to serve up plenty of spectacle and surprise for fight fans around the world live on DAZN.

With The Ring 6 ending January on a high note, top fighters across every division are starting to see the bigger picture before them as they plot their bids for glory this year.

New champions have been crowned, old ones have been dethroned - and in-between it all, there's been some fascinating bouts, fine comebacks and comedy gold to enjoy too.

Here, DAZN News takes a look back at the week in boxing - and picks out five of the key stories worth revisiting as we head towards another busy seven days on the calendar.

Mario Barrios vs. Ryan Garcia 16x9 The Ring

Stevenson seals four-weight status

The odds were in his favour with fight fans, but after such a powerful performance, there will be few who can question Shakur Stevenson's pound-for-pound talents now.

The Newark native locked off a fourth division by dethroning Teofimo Lopez for the WBO light-welterweight crown at The Ring 6 on Saturday, live from Madison Square Garden.

Glory for Stevenson sees him follow in the footsteps of Terence Crawford, who was there to cheer him on in New York City. The sky is the limit now for the Rio 2016 medalist.

Kelly crowned light-middleweight king

Heading into a near-hometown bout up the road from his native Sunderland, Josh Kelly was clearly the home favourite to get business done against Bakhram Murtazaliev.

The star did so indeed, becoming Britain's sixth current male champion in the process as he seized the IBF title by majority decision at Newcastle's Utilita Arena on Saturday.

With talk of a dance against Jaron 'Boots' Ennis floated even before he had his hands on the strap, you can expect a busy 2026 for the star - after his celebrations, of course.

Davis locks in with superb return

There have been plenty of fight fans watching with baited breath when it comes to Keyshawn Davis after a 2025 that turned shambolic following his WBO lightweight title win.

A failed weight cut before a first defence against Edwin De Los Santos saw his reign collapse into a heap, and the star has done little to endear himself out of the ring since.

But on Saturday night, he gave a reminder of his potent power as a modern boxing entertainer, with a late stoppage over Jamaine Ortiz confirming his light-welterweight debut.

Chisora-Wilder confirmed for April

Among those not in the ring across the weekend, two of the sport's most storied heavyweights officially confirmed they would be stepping up against one another on Friday.

Derek Chisora will sign off from professional boxing with a likely farewell bout against Deontay Wilder at London's The O2 Arena in April, with the clash live on DAZN.

For 'Del Boy', it marks a final chance to thrill his fans as a cult hero, while for 'The Bronze Bomber', it marks a must-win bout to keep his aspirations of a last title charge alive.

Miller battles hairpiece for victory

It wasn't all blood, sweat and tears at MSG over the weekend - there was a bit of hair too, thanks to an unexpected and surreal moment for Jarrell Miller against Kingsley Ibeh.

'Big Baby' stunned those watching when a blow to his head appeared to dislodge a hairpiece, which subsequently was left half-attached for the rest of the second round.

The star laughed off the incident to edge a narrow victory against his opponent and put himself back into the heavyweight ranks again - but this will surely follow him for a while.
