Tyson Fury set to fight in Thailand against former world title challenger

Tyson Fury has lined up his next opponent, and it's not Anthony Joshua.
Fury will take on former world heavyweight title challenger Mariusz Wach in Pattaya, Thailand next month in what will be the second fight of 2026 for the "Gypsy King." Fury ended a 16-month hiatus from boxing when he took on Arslanbek Makhmudov in April, winning by unanimous decision at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Just over three months on from defeating Makhmudov, Fury looks to do the same against Wach, a 46-year-old Polish fighter who once challenged Wladimir Klitschko for the unified world heavyweight title.
“2026 is a landmark year for me in boxing and I’m excited to be able to bring this event to Pattaya, a part of the world that is special to me," Fury said in a statement. "We’re coming together to put on a great show for the fans, while using the opportunity to give back the local community, who have been so good to me every time I have visited.
"At the same time, I’m fully focused on preparing for a tough opponent and making sure I’m the best version of Tyson Fury going into fight night. It’s the start of a huge second half of the year for me.”
“Boxing is a better place with Tyson Fury in it, so it’s fantastic to have him back in action on Friday 24th July," added Queensberry Promotions boss Frank Warren. "Tyson is in great shape and completely focused on putting on a show against Mariusz Wach.
"He’s a true global superstar and I’ve no doubt the fans will pack the place out in Thailand to watch a vintage performance from the Gypsy King.”
The bout against Wach is set to be another tune-up for Fury as he and Joshua head towards an expected mega fight in the second half of 2026. Both men are former unified world champions from the United Kingdom, and although their rises to the top of the sport came almost in parallel they have yet to face each other in the ring.
Joshua is also in action next month, with "AJ" preparing to face Kristian Prenga live on DAZN PPV on July 25, one day after Fury vs. Wach.
