Tyson Fury is aiming to weigh 300lbs for his summer showdown with Deontay Wilder. The heavyweight rivals will meet for a third time in Las Vegas on July 24th with the American looking to register his first win in the series.

In December 2018, Wilder, despite scoring two heavy knockdowns, could only scrape a draw. 14 months later, the pair met again and there was no need for the ringside judges as Fury turned in a career best performance to dominate Wilder before stopping him in seven one-sided rounds.

It appeared that the “Gypsy King” would move into a unification clash with domestic foe, Anthony Joshua, but those plans, after months of strenuous negotiations, were shelved after an independent arbiter ruled that Wilder was entitled to a rematch.

The first press conference promoting the trilogy bout took place last night, and Fury is insisting that he will enter the contest heavier than ever so he can defeat Wilder in quicker fashion.

“What I'm going to do to Deontay Wilder this time is I'm going to run him over like I'm an 18-wheeler and he's a human being, and I guarantee you he does not go past where he did before,” said Fury at the well-attended press conference.

"Before I only had five or six weeks of practising what I was going to do to him, this time I've had 18 months, so that is what you're going to see. I'm building my weight up, I'm trying to get up to 300 lbs for this fight because I'm looking for a big knockout straight away.

"I don't believe he's mentally, physically or emotionally involved in this fight, and he's doing it for the wrong reasons. When people do things for the wrong reasons, they wind up getting hurt, and we'll see on fight night if I'm a man of my word and if I can run him over quicker than round seven, and I'm sure I will."
