Former UFC lightweight championĀ Charles Oliveira isn't paying much attention to Colby Covington, even after Covington called him out. But the former champion isn't outright opposed to fighting Covington at 170 pounds. If itĀ makes sense.Ā
āMan, in reality itās like I said, itās sitting down and looking at legacy, history, values,ā Oliveira toldĀ Ag Fight. āYou have to sit down. When I woke up in the morning, thousands of people were sending me messages, I sent it to Diego [Lima] and Diego said it too, I see what you think.ā
He continued,Ā āI said, āDiego, just sit down, talk, think, see whatās good, see what the UFC thinks about it.ā Itās not just what Charles thinks, itās about what the UFC thinks about it. [Colby] is a talkative guy, heās a guy who talks a lot, so letās see. If it makes sense, if itās something good for me, why not?ā
Oliveira is coming off a loss to rising lightweight starĀ Arman Tsarukyan but it still ranked No. 2 in the division. Covington on the the other hand has lost three of his last five appearances. He has not competed since losing to Leon Edwards at UFC 296.Ā
