What's next for Arsenal after losing Vinicius Jr. sweepstakes?

The Gunners have already secured the services of forward Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge and are reportedly on the verge of landing Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes in a blockbuster deal, but the headlines for Arsenal's summer shopping spree have been equally about the players they've failed to bring in.

Arsenal targeted England international Morgan Rogers only to watch as London rivals Chelsea swooped in for a record-breaking transfer, and then they initiated contact with Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. only to have the Brazilian sign a contract extension with Los Blancos earlier this week.

With their Premier League rivals all loading up on talent in recent weeks, the Gunners are expected to continue seeking out ways to add more attacking nous to their title-winning squad.

Here are some of their options after losing out on Rogers and Vini Jr.:

Bradley Barcola

The PSG speedster is very likely to move during the current window after telling the Ligue 1 giants that he will not re-sign, and his age and profile will fetch the French side a substantial fee.

To that end, Liverpool are the reported frontrunners in the race to land Barcola, with a staggering €150 million price tag attached. The Reds are much further along in their pursuit of the 23-year-old, having reportedly already agreed to personal terms with the player, but nothing is written in stone just yet.

Nico Williams

Williams has been on Mikel Arteta's radar for a number of years now, and the club's desire for a wide player with quality means that their interest in the Athletic Bilbao and Spain winger has only risen this summer.

The 24-year-old World Cup winner is reportedly open to testing himself in the Premier League despite being happy at his current club, and the reigning champs have the financial wherewithal to convince both him and Bilbao that the move to North London is one worth making.

Iliman Ndiaye

A report has surfaced linking the Gunners with Everton and Senegal attacker Iliman Ndiaye.

Valued at £75 million, the 26-year-old can play a number of positions and is obviously very familiar with the Premier League grind, making him a sensible alternative to some of the bigger names on Arteta's shopping list. Ndiaye has drawn interest from Saudi side Al Hilal, which could drive up his price.

Julian Alvarez

While obviously not a like-for-like alternative to Rogers or Vini Jr., Alvarez's pedigree is such that Arsenal are said to be keen on bringing the Argentine to the Emirates.

Alvarez can play a number of positions up front, and he'd provide more clinical finishing to a side that sometimes lacked that edge in front of goal last season.

An Alvarez transfer would not preclude a move for a winger, either. If this happens, it could happen alongside one of the other men on this list.
