Nico O'Reilly 'buzzing' after star performance in Carabao Cup final

Nico O'Reilly isn't known for his goalscoring, but on Sunday he potted two of the most important goals of his career as he led Manchester City to a 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final.
The newly minted 21-year-old turned a cagey match on its head with his second-half brace — scored in the 60th and 64th minutes — as neither side could find a breakthrough prior to his goals outburst.
O'Reilly, whose birthday was on Saturday, gave himself and his team a belated gift and revelled in the emotions after the match.
"Unbelievable feeling," O'Reilly told Sky Sports. "To win a final, to beat this team we know how good they are. We need to build on it, it will give us good momentum. Buzzing with today.
"Bit of disbelief seeing all the fans cheering like that when I scored those goals. Really a good feeling and a great birthday weekend."
O'Reilly had his "whole family" in the stands at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, and they were treated to a masterclass of attacking football by the left-back. While he has reached double digits in scoring this season thanks to Sunday's brace against the Gunners, O'Reilly's efficiency in front of goal may have come as a surprise to many watching the final.
Not to him, though.
"Since I was a kid I always played in midfield, I was always arriving in the box and scoring goals," O'Reilly said. "To bring it in at senior level and the highest level, it's good for me and adds goals to my game. A great feeling."
Arsenal and Man City currently occupy first and second place in the Premier League standings, with the Sky Blues running out of time to catch up to the North Londoners. Man City will hope to ride the momentum created by Sunday's cup victory to another league title after play resumes following the international break.
