If Liverpool want to land Bradley Barcola, they'll need to spend more than any British club has ever spent on a single player.
The Reds are currently reshaping their squad under new manager Andoni Iraola, who has been tasked with leading the club back into the Premier League's title race for the 2026-27 season. To do that, Liverpool have already added Jérémy Jacquet and VÃctor Muñoz this summer, and they are expected to make a number of additional moves ahead of the start of the new campaign.
The biggest name on Iraola's shopping list is Barcola, the 23-year-old winger who has dazzled for Paris Saint-Germain for the past three seasons and scored three goals for France at the recent World Cup.
Barcola's influence at PSG has decreased and he is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League. However, with two years left on his contract, the Guardian reports that PSG have placed a £145 million value on Barcola, which is far higher than the £100m fee Liverpool are looking to pay, according to the BBC.Â
In fact, a £145m transfer would be far and away the largest fee paid by a British club, eclipsing the £125m Liverpool spent on Alexander Isak last year. According to the Telegraph, Liverpool were interested in Barcola last summer but decided against paying the £70m fee.
Now, with the departure of Mohamed Salah and with Iraola in charge, the Reds may make another attempt at landing the speedy attacker despite his price tag doubling in just 12 months.Â
