The five biggest Premier League deals of the transfer window

The World Cup certainly played a significant role in the way transfers were carried out, with much of the business delayed until after the tournament concluded.

Premier League clubs yet again made headlines for their substantial spending, with Tottenham making a series of expensive signings to improve on successive 17th-placed finishes.

But which were the most expensive deals of the summer window? Here, DAZN News brings you the highest fees.

Enzo Fernandez - £125m

• Chelsea - Manchester City

Enzo Fernandez finalised a joint Premier League record £125million move from Chelsea to Manchester City right at the very last innings of the window, equalling what Liverpool paid for Alexander Isak last summer.

The 2022 World Cup winner joined the Blues following Argentina's triumph for a then club-record fee and went on to make 170 appearances for the West London club.

Fernandez made no secret of his desire to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, and his relationship with City boss Enzo Fernandez is said to be a deciding factor.

Bradley Barcola - £123m

• PSG - Liverpool

Liverpool spent much of their summer hunting for a new winger, and boy did they land a good one, as Bradley Barcola signed from PSG for £123m.

The European champions added to what was already a stellar attacking line-up by acquiring Ferran Torres and Maghnes Akliouche, thus sending Barcola down the pecking order.

Barcola made 76 goal contributions in 152 appearances for the Parisians and will be expected to elevate Andoni Iraola's underperforming side.

Morgan Rogers - £117m

• Aston Villa - Chelsea

Many expected Morgan Rogers to join Premier League champions Arsenal this summer before the midfielder made a shock £117m move to Chelsea.

The England international left Villa Park as one of the club's greatest success stories, guiding the West Midlands club to the Europa League title last season.

It has not taken the 24-year-old long to hit the ground running, notching a goal and assists in his first two league games, forging a formidable frontline with Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.

Elliot Anderson - £116m

• Nottingham Forest - Manchester City

City have not messed around this summer as Elliot Anderson ranks as the second £100m-plus addition at the Etihad alongside Fernandez.

Newcastle United were forced to sell their academy product in the summer of 2024 to abide by financial regulations, and he blossomed into a fine midfielder with Nottingham Forest.

Anderson seemingly had options this summer, but it was City who were able to lure him to the Etihad for £116m, where he has slotted straight into Maresca's engine room.

Sandro Tonali - £100m

• Newcastle United - Tottenham

Sandro Tonali was linked with several clubs during the summer, including Arsenal and Manchester City, but ended up joining Spurs for a club-record £100m.

The Italy international impressed during his three years in the North East despite a 10-month gambling ban which halted his debut season.

Tonali has started both of the Lilywhites' opening Premier League games, including a humbling 2-0 defeat to former club Newcastle, and has much to do to live up to his price tag.
