Four things to watch out for as Arsenal and Chelsea go head-to-head in huge London derby

Can Arsenal stop JP Morgan? 

Some eyebrows were raised when Chelsea decided to spend a record £117m to make Morgan Rogers the most expensive British player in history, but the early signs have been encouraging from the new signing. 

The Blues' new-look attack with Rogers in tandem with Cole Palmer, flanking Joao Pedro, gives Xabi Alonso one of the most dangerous trios in the league and the pair already have five goals and four assists between them in just two Premier League games.

Of course, Arsenal will present a different test, with the trio set to take on the meanest defence in the league, who are yet to concede in its opening two games. 

However, with William Saliba out, it could present an opportunity for the newly dubbed 'JP Morgan' to give the Gunners' backline their first real challenge of the season.

Will Chelsea see any of the ball? 

The only concern for Chelsea will be if they can get the ball to their attacking players, because what we've seen from this Blues team is that they are more than happy to concede possession. 

Last week against Brighton, they recorded their lowest possession percentage in the Premier League since records began, managing just 25.6% in the 4-3 victory. 

It's hard to see them troubling Arsenal if they are to go about the same tactic again at The Emirates, because it's unlikely that the champions will provide their visitors with the opportunity to counterattack as often as Fulham and Brighton did. 

There's no shame in not wanting the ball and playing on the counter, but Alonso's men will need to make the time they do have the ball count - and that is where that could run into issues. 

Can Xabi Alonso stop his leaky defence from conceding? 

While Chelsea's attack has been impressive thus far, there's no denying that at the back they need to start tightening up. 

No team has conceded more than the Blues in the top half of the table, having shipped twice to Fulham and then three to the Seagulls last time out. 

It's of course early days, and it's a defence still being moulded together with new names adapting to a new club and a new manager's style, but it's a trend that can't continue. 

What's concerning, however, is that they now face a Premier League title-winning attack, which has so far hardly broken a sweat in their two wins. 

The last thing Alonso needs would be an early-season embarrassment from the champions, but in the first two weeks of showing, Arsenal will know it's a backline they can get at and inflict damage on. 

What record will fall? 

Arsenal were worthy title winners last season, but one of the quirks of their championship-winning season was their stuttering against the big six. 

Taking Tottenham out of the equation, Mikel Arteta's men only managed wins against Manchester United on the opening day and a victory over the Blues, but dropped points in both reverse games and also failed to beat Liverpool and Manchester City over the course of the campaign. 

Not that it mattered in the end, but having finally got the title-win off their backs, the Gunners can now up their own ante by making a statement in games perceived to be against their title rivals to really establish them as the team to beat. 

On the flip side, if Chelsea are to cause an upset, they'll need to overcome a wretched recent record against their London rivals. 

The Blues have won just once in the last SIXTEEN meetings across all competitions, but it feels unlikely that Sunday will be the game when they can start to turn the tide around.
