Five key players who could define the Community Shield clash

Last season, the Gunners won their first Premier League title for 22 years, and City came out victorious in the FA Cup final as they beat Chelsea 1-0.

Ahead of the match this Sunday, DAZN News have had a look at five players who could decide this clash between last season's top two.

After a stellar World Cup campaign, it's hard not to include the Norweigan here.

He bagged seven goals along the way as Norway's history makers reached the quarter-finals for the first time ever.

Back in City colours, new manager Enzo Maresca will be hoping his striker will do what he does best. Score goals.

If this tie is to be settled by a goal from anyone, chances are it will be from Haaland.

Plus, his ongoing feud with Gabriel will continue, adding a nice little sub-plot to this affair.

Gabriel

Gabriel's Brazil side were knocked out of the World Cup by a Haaland brace, so the centre-back will be out for revenge.

But the Brazilian will be without his partner William Saliba as he sustained a back injury playing for France.

If the Gunners are to keep City at bay, then Gabriel will need to marshal his backline.

Arsenal's set-piece prowess will cause Manchester City problems, and often it's the Brazilian on the end of them.

Gianluigi Donnarumma

With James Trafford no longer breathing down his neck, Gianluigi Donnarumma is Manchester City's undisputed number one.

The Italian had a mixed first season with City but could get the opportunity to put down a statement of intent here.

Arsenal will likely be without first-choice David Raya after his World Cup success with Spain, so if a goalkeeper decides this fixture, it should be Donnarumma.

Six of the last nine, including the last three Community Shields, have gone to penalty shootouts, and with Donnarumma being a penalty expert, if it is to be decided from the spot, he could be the hero.

Arsenal's new winger has had a strong pre-season so far, scoring against Girona and setting up the only goal versus Real Betis.

 Quick, direct and has a good eye for a goal, the Greek forward enjoyed a brilliant season with Club Brugge last year, scoring 17 and setting up 23 in the league.

With Leandro Trossard departing and a deal for Vinícius Júnior seemingly dead in the water, this match is a chance for Tzolis to make Arsenal's left-hand side his own.

Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo's delicate flick against Chelsea in the FA Cup final is the reason City are in the Community Shield. 

The Ghanaian joined Manchester City in January and won both the FA Cup and League Cup in a superb first six months in sky blue.

With Maresca coming in, Semenyo will be keen to prove his worth.

His pace and power are a deadly combo; put that with his ability to go either side, and he is a headache for any full-back.
