Divine intervention keeps Edinburgh in League Two as Brora miss out on promotion
A first-half brace by Divine Iserhienrhien inspired Edinburgh to a 2-0 win over Highland League champions Brora to retain their place in William Hill League Two.
Iserhienrhien had struck during the first leg of the play-off final last Saturday to earn a 1-1 draw and required only 60 seconds to net again for Michael McIndoe’s team at Meadowbank after he beat the offside trap.
An early opener for Edinburgh was swiftly followed by another for Iserhienrhien in the 14th minute from close-range and it proved enough to ensure the club would stay in the fourth tier of the Scottish pyramid.
Defeat for Brora ended the professional dream of the part-time club, who finished top of the Highlands League table after a close title battle with Brechin and Formartine.
