NFL quarterback Jameis Winston has saluted Argentina captain and World Cup winner Lionel Messi in a bizarre way.
Winston is a part of Fox Sports' coverage of the World Cup, and ahead of Argentina's opener against Algeria on Tuesday night, he was mixing it with the Argentina fans in Kansas City.
While there, he made no secret that Messi was the GOAT, and Winston marked this by putting a Messi shirt on an actual goat.
That is not where the craziness stopped however, as Winston then made Argentina's fans kiss the goat wearing the Messi shirt.
Messi backed up his GOAT status during the match at Arrowhead, the home of the Kansas City Chiefs, scoring all three goals in his team's 3-0 win over Algeria.
This performance from Messi was one which carried plenty of significance along with reaching a new milestone on the international stage.
Messi's appearance marked the sixth World Cup he's played in, and scored 20 years after he netted his first goal at football's biggest showpiece.
His third goal also made him the World Cup's joint-top scorer with Germany's Miroslav Klose, and with Austria and Jordan still to come in the group stages, he will be expected to surpass Klose's total of 16 goals and make himself the outright leader.
However, there is an immediate threat to Messi's quest to become the all-time leading scorer with France's Kylian Mbappe on 14 goals after scoring twice against Senegal on Tuesday, and he too will have his sights set on making World Cup history.
