Five big names who could replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool after club legend announces exit

In that time, Salah has won two Premier League titles, a Champions League, as well as being named Player of the Year on three occasions and collecting three Golden Boots. 

In his remaining months, there's sure to be plenty of time to recap the Egyptian's record-breaking spell in Liverpool, but attention will soon turn to who can replace him in Arne Slot's team next season. 

DAZN News looks at five possible heirs to the Kop's Egyptian King. 

Michael Olise (Bayern Munich)

One of the most in-form players in Europe, the former Crystal Palace man is averaging a goal or an assist for Bayern this season, making him Europe's most productive attacker. 

Liverpool got used to Salah's ridiculous totals in his time at Anfield, and Olise is doing the same in the Bundesliga with 17 assists and 11 goals this season. 

He comes with plenty of Premier League experience after starring for the Eagles and at 24, there's plenty of time for the Frenchman to find another gear. 

He's likely to cost a pretty penny, especially if he has a good World Cup, too, where he's set to be one of the key names for Didier Deschamps talented French side.

Bradley Barcola (PSG)

Another member of the French squad headed to the World Cup this summer is Barcola, who has starred for PSG in their rise to European champions under Luis Enrique. 

His two goals against Chelsea in the Champions League earlier this month was a timely reminder of his talents, but he hasn't always been first-choice for the French champions this season.

Having already been linked with Liverpool in the past, the forward, who's scored 38 times in 141 games in Paris, could be targeted once again. 

It would take another outlay of cash, but the Reds have shown they are willing to spend to get the right man.

Anthony Gordon (Newcastle)

Newcastle may have had an inconsistent campaign, but Gordon has shone through it all - particularly in the Champions League - and this summer could be the time for a move if he wants to continue to compete at the top of football's table. 

Gordon does predominantly play on the left, so it would need a tactical change of personnel for Arne Slot, but the England man is adaptable, having played through the middle for the Magpies this season. 

The winger has been linked with Liverpool previously, despite his obvious links to the blue half of Merseyside, and is expected to play a big part for the Three Lions at the World Cup this summer. 

There's also the added bonus of him knowing how to get the best out of Alexander Isak, too. 

Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig)

The least known option, at least to Premier League watchers, but a name that Liverpool have already had their eye on after a breakout season in Germany. 

Still only 19, the Ivory Coast forward has 11 goals and seven assists this season, and although still a little raw, the potential is for all to see in the RB Leipzig man.

There's bound to be some big interest in him this summer, and the Reds may even see him as an additional buy, given his age and profile, but they may have to fight off competition from elsewhere in the Premier League and beyond.

Jarrod Bowen (West Ham)

West Ham's Mr Consistent, Bowen, often goes under the radar because of his continued high-level performances for a Hammers team that has struggled for most of the season. 

A direct winger, there are some comparisons with Salah in Bowen's game, and at 29, it feels like timing is running out on a big move for the player. 

He could come at a cut-price if the East London side are relegated, but even if they do escape the drop, the club would't be able to refuse a large bid for their headline act.
