Which winger could Liverpool sign after Minteh, Endrick developments?

Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo have been the only arrivals, and given that a deal for Jacquet was agreed in February, it has been an underwhelming window for the Merseyside club.

Another winger is the priority for Andoni Iraola, but as the Reds prepare for their season opener against Newcastle United, the Spaniard must utilise mostly the same options that Arne Slot had at his disposal.

While there have been strong links with Bradley Barcola, there have been intriguing recent developments around Brighton's Yankuba Minteh and Real Madrid's Endrick, but who is most likely to arrive at Anfield before the window shuts?

Liverpool bid for Yankuba Minteh

Due to the World Cup, there has been a flurry of transfer activity late in the window, and one surprising line that has arrived out of nowhere is Liverpool's interest in Minteh.

Yesterday, The Athletic's David Ornstein reported that the Reds had made an offer in recent days to sign the Brighton winger, with a bid worth £50m turned down by the Seagulls.

This is an even more remarkable story given the 22-year-old is currently recovering from surgery on an injury to his right leg and is expected to be out for around eight weeks.

Newcastle reluctantly sold the Gambia international in the summer of 2024 to abide by Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), and he has since flourished on the South Coast.

Minteh primarily operates on the right and completed more sprints than any Premier League right-winger last term, while he ranked in the top three per cent for successful dribbles, according to Fotmob.

Endrick looking unlikely for Reds

If a move for Minteh wasn't leftfield enough, then how about news that Liverpool are preparing a bid for Endrick?

That is the news coming out of Spain, as newspaper Mundo Deportivo claimed there was an incoming offer for the Brazil international.

However, it has been reported by ESPN that the Real Madrid youngster is not seeking to leave the Spanish capital and has already rejected loan approaches from Aston Villa and Roma.

Endrick spent the second half of last season on loan with Lyon, where he recorded eight goals and eight assists in all competitions for the French outfit.

While the 20-year-old will be aiming to make an impact under Jose Mourinho this season, he faces a battle against Kylian Mbappe, Yan Diomande and Brahim Diaz for minutes.

Bradley Barcola the dream signing

PSG have the most devastating front line in Europe, but Barcola faces a fight to land a starting berth in Luis Enrique's side this term.

Ferran Torres and Maghnes Akliouche have both arrived, while there are the likes of Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele to contend with.

With all that competition, there has been growing speculation that Barcola could leave the French champions this summer, with Liverpool strongly linked with his services.

The most obvious sticking point would be his price, with several outlets reporting that the 23-year-old would cost the Merseysiders more than £100m.

Barcola usually operates on the left, which is an area where Liverpool have more options, including Munoz, Rio Ngumoha and Coady Gakpo, although he has been heavily linked with Tottenham.

Last season, the PSG winger bagged 11 goals and two assists in Ligue 1 but was regularly rotated.

Although Barcola would be regarded as the better signing of the three, reports about a bid for Minteh suggest that Liverpool have turned their attention to cheaper targets.
