Boreham Wood set the tone for matchday four, when they take on Boston United on Thursday to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign, before the rest of the games take centre stage a night later. 

With two rounds of games on DAZN this weekend, there's plenty to choose from, but which ties on Friday could be the ones to watch? 

Here, DAZN News   selects the pick of the evening's action.

National League matches live on DAZN

Southend United vs. Kidderminster Harriers 

• Date: Friday, August 28
• Time: 7.45pm
• Venue: Roots Hall 

Kieron Dyer has made a fast start to his managerial career down on the Essex coast, with the Shrimpers making an unbeaten start to the National League season. 

Southend top the pile on goal difference right now, and come into the clash with Kidderminster having come from behind to defeat Solihull Moors last time out, with a 3-1 victory. 

They'll welcome a Harriers side who have bounced back following a disappointing opening day defeat to Hornchurch, where they were soundly beaten.

Since then, they've picked up their first win back at this level by beating Eastleigh and earned a point last weekend against Aldershot.

Wealdstone vs. Carlisle 

• Date: Friday, August 28
• Time: 7.45pm 
• Venue:  Grovsnor Vale 

The pre-season favourites for the National League title were Carlisle, but it has been a sticky start for Rob Elliot following the shock defeat to Worthing on the opening day and then more dropped points in the draw with Yeovil. 

However, they finally seemed to find their feet last weekend as they thumped Hornchurch 4-1 to really get their season started and will now look to build on that with a first away win of the campaign. 

Standing in their way on Friday are Wealdstone, who are yet to taste victory in 2026-27, and come into the game off the back of two straight defeats. 

Boss Gary Waddock is one of the league's most experienced names and won't panic, but will look for more points on the board as they host promotion-chasing United. 

Gateshead vs. Sutton United 

• Date: Friday, August 28
• Time: 7.45pm 
• Venue: Gateshead International Stadium 

Sutton are the season's early surprise package, having won three games out of three so far this campaign.

Their latest victory came against Hartlepool last weekend, with the 2-1 win seeing them as one of only two sides who can boast a one hundred per cent record so far, and having only conceded once.

They face the long trip to the North-East on Friday, to take on Lee Cattermole's Gateshead, who has fond memories of Sutton having been part of the club's coaching staff last year under Steve Morison. 

Cattermole is in his first management job and has so far overseen a first win against Woking, either side of defeats to Woking and Eastleigh.
