Premier League Power Rankings: Crystal Palace benefit from first win of the season

However, it's still really early in the campaign, with some teams yet to taste defeat and others still looking for their first victory.

We try to make sense of it all in the latest Power Rankings, which are not meant to look at the overall picture, but rather to provide a snapshot based on current form, strength of opposition, and other factors. As always, these rankings are based solely on Premier League play.

Here are DAZN News' Premier League Power Rankings after Matchday 3.

1. Arsenal (—)

The Gunners were dominant in their London derby win over Chelsea, and they remain perfect on the season.

Next match: Sept. 12 at Sunderland

2. Manchester City (—)

City are the Premier League's only other side to boast a perfect record through three matches following their 1-0 victory against Coventry.

Next match: Sept. 13 at Manchester United

3. Liverpool (▲1)

The Reds finally collected their first W, toppling Ipswich Town away. They are undefeated so far.

Next match: Sept. 12 vs. Fulham

4. Manchester United (▼2)

Man United allowed a late equalizer to turn a potential away victory at Everton into a draw. The Red Devils are uneven out of the gates so far.

Next match: Sept. 13 vs. Manchester City

5. Bournemouth (▲3)

Bournemouth should have done better than the 2-2 draw they earned at Newcastle, having held a two-goal lead in the first half. However, their overall play is still highly competitive.

6. Brighton (▼1)

The Seagulls rescued a home point against Leeds in a match they dominated.

Next match: Sept. 13 at Coventry

7. Aston Villa (—)

The Villans are still searching for their first league goal, let alone their first victory. A hard-fought point at Hull could be an indicator of better things to come and Unai Emery should get things straightened out soon.

8. Brentford (▼2)

The Bees remain unbeaten after their 1-1 draw with visiting Sunderland.

Next match: Sept. 12 at Bournemouth

9. Sunderland (▲1)

Back-to-back results for the Black Cats has them earning a slight bump in these rankings.

Next match: Sept. 12 vs. Arsenal

10. Chelsea (▼1)

If you're thinking 10th place is a harsh ranking for Chelsea, you are correct. They've got two wins from three games, but their pre-season ranking still pulls them down. Being decidedly second-best against Arsenal does not help matters.

11. Leeds (▲2)

Leeds are another side who have yet to suffer a loss, having most recently drawn 1-1 at Brighton. They'll keep climbing as long as the results continue.

Next match: Sept. 14 vs. Newcastle

12. Crystal Palace (▲5)

It's a big jump this week for Palace after they picked up their first victory, an entertaining away win at Fulham. However, this boost could be temporary if they don't follow up with more positive results.

Next match: Sept. 12 vs. Ipswich

13. Everton (▼2)

The Toffees stole a point at the death from visiting Manchester United over the weekend and they are unbeaten so far, but we're in wait-and-see mode given how Everton failed to live up to expectations last season.

Next match: Sept. 12 at Tottenham

14. Newcastle (▼2)

Another side that is technically still unbeaten but also middling, the Magpies are nothing if not entertaining thus far.

Next match: Sept. 14 at Leeds

15. Hull (—)

The surprise of the Premier League so far, Hull have to be in dreamland given their start to the campaign. We're still extremely cautious and will wait to see how the next few weeks end up before anointing them.

16. Fulham (▼2)

Three straight losses to start the season means than manager Alvaro Arbeloa may already be on sack watch.

Next match: Sept. 12 at Liverpool

17. Tottenham (▲1)

Spurs didn't lose over the weekend! They earned their first point through a scoreless draw at Nottingham Forest, but they've still yet to score after three matches.

Next match: Sept. 12 vs. Everton

18. Nottingham Forest (▼2)

Speaking of Forest, any points lost to Tottenham are considered an automatic downgrade in these rankings for the time being. 

Next match: Sept. 12 at Aston Villa

19. Coventry (—)

Coventry are the only other side to have lost all three of their games, and they're one of three teams to remain goalless.

Next match: Sept. 13 vs. Brighton

20. Ipswich (—)

Yes, Ipswich have a win to their name, but they've looked way off the pace since that opening day triumph.

Next match: Sept. 12 at Crystal Palace
