The Premier League is spread all over the bank holiday weekend, with the latest chapters in both the title battle and the scrap to avoid the final relegation place continuing with just four rounds left to go.

Arsenal hold an early advantage over Manchester City this weekend, while there's also the meeting of Manchester United and Liverpool, which always brings its own fireworks, whatever the predicament.

Here are all the big talking points heading into Matchday 35.

Arsenal's capital gains

Fresh off a credible draw in their Champions League semi-final at Atletico, Arsenal return to domestic issues three points clear at the top of the table and preparing for the visit of Fulham on Saturday.

The Gunners may have played a game more than title rivals Manchester City, but at this stage of the season, it's points on the board that count, and they have an opportunity to 'break serve' by playing two days before City go to Everton, where they could be six points better off than Pep Guardiola's men.

The good news for Arsenal fans is that they face opposition on Saturday, of whom they have an exemplary record against. No team has a better home record against a single Premier League team than the Gunners against their capital rivals, having not lost in their last 32 home games against the Cottagers. Getty Images

The perfect tonic for Mikel Arteta and his team as they look to take back control of the title race and put the pressure back on his former mentor at City.

Battle of London

The final relegation place is looking like a straight shootout between two sides of the capital, with two points separating West Ham and Spurs, who currently sit under the dreaded dotted line.

The Hammers have the opportunity to really pile the heat on Roberto De Zerbi on Saturday, as they travel across town to play Brentford, where a win would see them five points clear of the North London side.

Spurs' task isn't easy either, they travel to Villa Park on Sunday evening, hoping that Villa's Europa League semi-final will be enough of a distraction to see them take something from the game.

Having finally secured their first win of 2026 against Wolves last week, Spurs fans will be praying they can return from their latest trip to the Midlands with the same result or slide deeper into the relegation mire.

Marquee match

It may not have too much on the line, other than Champions League place rankings, but it's hard not to be excited when Manchester United and Liverpool clash.

A game that in recent seasons hasn't disappointed and Sunday's tea-time showdown between England's two most successful clubs still has some slices of narratives to throw in the mix.

Can Michael Carrick continue to show his credentials for the full-time job by beating another rival? Will Arne Slot find any crumb of comfort amid a disappointing second term in charge?

And what of Mo Salah? The Egyptian has been the scourge of United ever since his arrival on Merseyside, with 16 goals in 18 matches against the Red Devils. Has he got one more star showing in him at Old Trafford?

AOB?

Leeds United turned over Burnley to kick off the weekend on Friday night, with the home side's 3-1 victory likely putting to bed any remaining relegation fears.

The same now goes for Nottingham Forest, who are unbeaten in nine games after their Europa League win, and they travel to Chelsea on Monday to see if they can also secure their own survival.

There's also the 'chase for sixth place', which could turn out to be a Champions League entry if Aston Villa triumph in Europe. Therefore, there's a whole cluster of teams vying to make sure they've got a shock chance of elite European football next year.
