Ten big Premier League deals that could happen this August

Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle to Arsenal

This feels like a story that won't just go away, and it surely means Newcastle will only end up losing their captain. 

The Magpies won't want another drawn-out saga mirroring what happened with Alexander Isak last summer, so a resolution needs to be found. 

Guimaraes has made it clear he would be interested in a move to North London, but wants the situation sorted before he is due back from his post World Cup break. 

The Brazilian would no doubt add another layer of midfield dynamism to the champions' midfield, but will the Gunners get their man? 

Bradley Barcola, PSG to Liverpool

Liverpool have been suspiciously quiet in the window so far, especially given their need to refresh the attack in the wake of Mo Salah's departure. 

Their number-one target is French superstar Barcola, who is reportedly keen on a move to Anfield to be the poster boy of Andoni Iraola's new era. 

It's believed that Barcola has already agreed personal terms with the Merseysiders, and it's now down to the clubs to agree a fee for, which will be north of £100m. 

His arrival would be a real statement signing for the Reds, who will want to get back into the title picture following last term's meek defence. 

 

Rodri, Manchester City to Real Madrid

The one City fans really don't want to become a reality, but the link between the Spanish giants and the World Cup-winning captain won't go away. 

Rodri showed during this summer's tournament that he's very much back to his best, winning the competition's Golden Ball and even putting himself in the frame for another Ballon d'Or. 

So if Madrid do come calling, would it be difficult for the midfielder to turn down? After all, he's bagged every trophy possible in Manchester and could spearhead a new era at the Bernabeu. 

City fans hope not, but it feels like a deal that keeps festering.

Manchester City have already broken their transfer record to bag England's best young midfielder in Elliot Anderson, but will they pair him with another World Cup starlet? 

Bouaddi was one of the breakout names of the finals this summer, where he bossed Morocco's midfield despite still being a teenager. 

With Bernardo Silva having departed and doubts around Rodri's future, City are toying with adding the Lille upstart to their ranks. 

The 18-year-old would be part of a whole new-look midfield for the start of Enzo Maresca's reign.

Manu Kone, Roma to Manchester United

Manchester United's main aim this summer has been to refresh their midfield options, and having already signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, they have their sights set on their next target. 

Kone stepped into the limelight for France this summer and formed a formidable duo with Adrien Rabiot in the French engine room as they finished fourth in North America. 

With United looking for that kind of energy and drive to add to the middle of the park, they have been linked with a move for the Roma man. 

A signing that wouldn't break the bank and add competition where they need it, it feels like a good deal for Michael Carrick's men. 

Alex Scott, Bournemouth to Manchester United

Another name on United's radar - as well as several other Premier League clubs - is that of Alex Scott, who could be primed for a move from the South Coast. 

The midfielder has already turned down a new deal with Bournemouth, signalling that he sees his future elsewhere as he looks to take the next step in his career. 

United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been credited with an interest, with the Red Devils said to be the keenest at this stage. 

The Cherries are adamant the player is staying put this summer, but we've seen this story before, and with Scott's international aspirations, it may only end one way. 

Julian Alvarez, Atletico Madrid to Arsenal

The Premier League champions keep getting linked with one marquee deal as they look to cement their dominance on English football, and while the Vinicius talk may be a step too far , Alvarez feels like a possibility. 

The former Manchester City man is already proven in the Premier League and since leaving The Etihad has revelled in being the main man in Madrid. 

49 goals in 106 games tells its own story, and any arrival in North London would be a major signal of intent by Mikel Arteta. 

However, it does feel like the Argentine has his heart set on a move to Barcelona instead. 

Savinho, Manchester City to Tottenham

This is a hangover story from last summer, when Spurs were close to bringing the Brazilian to North London before City decided to keep the forward for the time being.

Twelve months on, Savinho's stock has stagnated ever so slightly after a season where he struggled for a run in the team in Pep Guardiola's last year.

Now the club may look to sell the 22-year-old to help balance the books after shelling out a record deal for Elliot Anderson, and Spurs are back in again. 

The winger would certainly add some attacking verve that was seriously missing last term. 

Lucas Bergvall, Tottenham to Newcastle

A move away from Tottenham is inevitable for the Swede, after he made his intentions to depart Spurs clear upon returning from the World Cup. 

The 20-year-old sees his future elsewhere, and his availability has already prompted Newcastle to have a bid turned down by the North Londoners. 

With the Magpies in need of midfield reinforcements, they'll likely be back with an improved offer before the end of the window and bag themselves a top young midfielder.

It's just a matter of the two clubs seeing eye-to-eye on the right price. 

James Trafford, Manchester City to Leeds

Leeds are showing they mean business this summer, and despite already securing the services of Harry Wilson and closing in on a deal for Julien Brandt, their biggest coup could be Trafford. 

Seen as the heir to Jordan Pickford's England spot, the young goalie was stuck behind Gigi Donnarumma for the majority of last season and would relish the chance to be number one at Elland Road. 

It would be a record deal for the club, but in an area they desperately need an upgrade, while also signalling their intent for the campaign. 

And for Trafford, it could do wonders for his prospects of being England's first-choice stopper.
