UEFA Women’s Champions League 2024-2025 Matchday 4: Decisive matches as everything is on the line in the Group Stage

Vålerenga vs Bayern: The visitors looking to take a step into the next round

Starting the next round of fixtures, Bayern now travels to Norway looking for the three points that will allow them to qualify for the 2024-2025 UEFA Women’s Champions League Quarterfinals, after having a perfect run with three consecutive wins. Star forward Pernille Harder keeps showing great shape, becoming the top scorer of the competition so far with five goals, getting her name into the top ten all-time scorers of the UWCL, and not stopping anytime soon to help Bayern reach their next level. 

Although Vålerenga has yet to add a point to their 2024-2025 campaign, they have shown good performances so far as part of Group C. The goalkeeping area has stood out the most, with Tove Enblom among the top three saving stats, completing 20 saves in three matches played.  

Arsenal vs Juventus: Gunners look for two straight wins over the Italians

A back-to-back blockbuster in London, after these two teams faced each other in the previous Matchday, giving fans all over the world a thrilling match, in which the English side came on top with a 4-nil win, with four different goal scorers finding the net, Mariona Caldentey still showing why she is one of the top transfers of the year, having scored one goal in every match she has played so far in Group C.  

The Bianconeri are looking to get back to winning ways, having lost their last two games in the UWCL, with Sofia Cantore scoring their only goal in their debut match. They have also kept one clean sheet and will aim to get a new set of three points when they land in London.  

Hammarby vs Manchester City: Citizens are a win away from qualification  

Venue: Stockholm Arena, Stockholm

Stunning since their 2024-2025 debut, Manchester City are keeping the pressure high, having won all three previous matches before touching down in Sweden, their last victory against the hosts, Laura Blindkilde Brown making her goal debut in the 2-nil result, the Citizens showing the depth of their offensive line, ready to keep their tally going.  

With their spectacular fan base waiting to cheer them on home soil, Hammarby will look to get their second set of points, after getting their first and only victory on their first 2024-2025 UWCL match. They have shown great straight in their defensive lines, holding City in the first 45 min, only conceding in the second half. Emilie Joramo being a keep player to this accomplishment, completed 18 tackles in her Group Stage performance.  

St. Pölen vs FC Barcelona: The current Champions aiming to continue their goal galore  

Venue: Viola Park, Vienna  

Date: Thursday, November 21| 21:00 CET / 15:00 ET 

After a rocky start, the current defending Champions FC Barcelona went back to their usual ways, collecting two consecutive wins of nine and seven goals to nil, proving they are still a machine when it comes to getting the job done. Next to the two times Ballon d’Or, captain Alexia Putellas, who has come back to deliver a masterclass on the midfield, is second top-scorer Claudia Pina, who has four goals to her name, getting two of those in their past win against the Austrian side.  

Even though they have two losses in Group D, St. Polen has delivered incredible performances in their Group Stage path, pushing the current group leaders and the Catalan side to raise the bar. Forward Kamila Dubcova, who already got the ball to the back of the net, tried to attack the defending champions, trying to do so again in front of their fans.
