Brock Purdy has an array of new weapons to work with on offense in 2026, and the early returns from the San Francisco 49ers' training camp suggest he's wasting no time forging a connection with them.
Mike Evans was the headline addition this offseason, leading an overhauled wide receiver room including rookie second-rounder De'Zhaun Stribling and free agent acquisition Christian Kirk.
Here's the latest from 49ers camp.

Stribling kept stacking good days on top of each other, hauling in catch after catch with the kind of quickness that led to him being picked with the 33rd overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.
However, not everyone's sold. Former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant went after Stribling's technique on X.
Evans didn't look like a guy still learning the offense so much as someone who's been running these routes for years.
Purdy found him deep down the left sideline during 11-on-11 work in what he hopes is an indication of what to expect when the 49ers visit Melbourne to take on the Rams in Week 1.
The veteran receiver gives Purdy something San Francisco has been missing: a 6'5" 'X' receiver who wins at the catch point and dominates in tight windows.
And while his numbers tailed off last year, Evans has scored double-digit touchdowns in six of his 12 seasons, and his success rates against press coverage (76.8%) and man coverage (71.3%) remained strong in 2025.
There's a cast on Kyle Shanahan's left hand, a lingering sign of the car accident that's kept him out of a full role to open training camp.
The 49ers head coach still made an appearance Sunday, watching briefly alongside GM John Lynch while Chris Foerster has taken the reins as interim head coach in the meantime.
Standout tight end George Kittle opened camp on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list as he continues to recover from an Achilles injury, but there was good news on his progress.
"George's rehab is coming tremendous," general manager John Lynch told reporters on Saturday. "I know you guys have heard from him, and he's doing really well.
"He's doing everything possible to be ready for week one. And we're thrilled with his progress," Lynch added.
