Brandon Aiyuk's bizarre Father's Day post piles more pressure on 49ers

Two weeks after accusing the 49ers of being "little-ass boys" in a social media post, he's back at it again, this time leaving no doubt as to where he wants to play next.

"What's up, everybody? I had a great Father's Day, and before I lay down and go to bed tonight, I just wanted to say go Commanders, go Commanders man, go Commanders, raise hail, and take command!" he said in an Instagram post.

Where things stand between Aiyuk and the 49ers

GM John Lynch said in January that Aiyuk had "played his last snap with the Niners".

The 49ers are clearly still hoping that they can trade the 28-year-old, but any interested teams know they could avoid giving up trade capital by waiting for what increasingly looks like his release.

That creates an awkward standoff because, despite his latest antics, Aiyuk is good enough to warrant at least some kind of draft capital or another player in a trade.

Cutting him saves $6.3 million, per Over The Cap, but Lynch is aware that doing so means taking on approximately $7.36 million in dead money.

With Aiyuk continuing to attract negative attention, there's an argument to suggest that San Francisco should cut their losses sooner rather than later and draw a line under this fiasco.
