Andy Ruiz Jr. returns from a two-year layoff on Friday night against Damian Knyba in the headliner of 'The Fight' at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J, live on DAZN worldwide and TNT Sports in the United States.
Before Friday's showdown, Ruiz and Knyba went face-to-face one more time at Thursday's weigh-in.
Knyba (17-1, 11 KOs) went to the scale first and came in at 255.5 pounds. Ruiz (35-2-1, 22 KOs) was next and looked in fantastic shape, weighing 254.3. A friendly face off between the two as they went their respective ways.
Knyba will have the sizable height advantage at 6'7" compared to Ruiz's 6'2". For the former unified heavyweight champion, the strategy against Knyba is simple.
"The bigger they are, the harder they fall," Ruiz told DAZN's Chris Mannix after the weigh-in. "I think I just got to chop him down and do what I do. Let my hands go and have fun again."
Britain's Conor Benn looks to become a world champion for the first time against US superstar Ryan Garcia on Saturday, September 12.
