Katie Taylor called time on her groundbreaking career with one last win as Ireland came to celebrate their hero at Dublin's Croke Park on Saturday.
'The Bray Bomber' wrapped her time in the ring as undisputed super-lightweight champion after sweeping aside Flora Pili before 80,000 supporters.
Yet the veteran star was not the only one making headlines on what proved to be another busy week for the sport, and on both sides of the Atlantic.

Taylor bids farewell in style
In the end, it felt like more than just a boxing match. For one evening, Ireland stood still to applaud the efforts of one of their own in true style.
Taylor had a job to do, of course, but there was never much doubt that she would come out on top against Pili despite the latter's own status.
It means that the star bowed out with four belts around her waist once more - and with her gloves left on the canvas to thunderous applause.
Ruiz rebuild derailed by Knyba
Just under a day earlier however, it was not the same fairytale for another veteran as Andy Ruiz saw his heavyweight rebuild come unstuck.
The former unified champion was hopeful that a win against Damian Knyba could be the springboard to a late-career glamour-division revival.

Instead, the latter picked him apart to show him how wide the gulf now is. Ruiz vowed to fight on - but it is unlikely he will go much further now.
Donovan reaffirms title credentials
Back in Dublin, and home favourite Paddy Donovan proved that his gamble to not wait for Liam Paro was a worthy one against Tyrone McKenna.
The IBF welterweight challenger may still have to wait for the Australian to take a voluntary defence before he gets his second full title shot next.
But 'The Real Deal' is not resting on his laurels, with a four-round win over his veteran foe here a clean vehicle for his skills and ringcraft at large.
Allen faces no-contest reckoning
Dave Allen's night proved to be just as memorable at Croke Park - if not quite for the reasons expected after his no-contest bout with Thomas Carty.

The Doncaster native has been accused of foul play after a blow behind the ear crumpled his opponent in one round and sent him through the ropes.
Allen has pushed back on the notion, but it remains to be seen whether the decision could be overturned - and if a rematch may materialise too.
Is Fury-Joshua off rather than on?
At this point, it is anybody's guess what is happening with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua - but things do appear to be a little more dire once again.
Over the weekend, the former called out old foe Oleksandr Usyk and suggested he was ready to move on from his all-British super-bout for good.
Throw in Eddie Hearn revealing that legal avenues are being pursued against backers TKO, and it appears this fight may be slipping away from fans.
