Croke Park 'everything and more' as Taylor wraps terrific career

Katie Taylor admitted her Croke Park farewell was "everything I expected and more" after signing off in style versus Flora Pili.
'The Bray Bomber' wrapped her career as undisputed super-lightweight champion with a wide unanimous decision in Dublin.
Yet the result was almost secondary to the occasiom, as 80,000 fans crammed into the famed stadium to roar her to victory.
Speaking afterwards, Taylor paid tribute to her team, her opponent, her supporters and Ireland for helping her fairytale farewell.

“This night was everything I expected and more," she stated in the ring . "This was definitely the highlight of my whole career.
"The preparation for this has been so emotional. But the atmosphere was so special. It was beyond my wildest dreams.Â
"What an amazing night. Looking back on an amazing career, this was just a dream ending to a dream career for me."
Taylor further feted her home nation after record-breaking numbers turned out to back her at a star-studded affair on Saturday.
"I don’t think another country in the world would sell 80,000 tickets for a female athlete. Ireland [is] the only country that would actually do that.
"It was unbelievable. I started off this career and I had the dream of becoming an Olympic champion. It’s been a remarkable ten years."
