What is Andy Ruiz Jr.'s diet while training for rematch vs. Anthony Joshua?

Andy Ruiz Jr. has joked about being powered by Snickers before.

But in preparing for his highly-anticipated rematch against Anthony Joshua in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on Dec. 7, the unified world heavyweight champion is cleaning up his diet a bit.

"A lot of fruits and vegetables, but he has the occasional treat," a representative from Zo's Meal Plans, which is handling Ruiz's diet and nutrition, told Sky Sports. "For the most part, he is serious about his diet. We try to give him the correct fuel to get through his training sessions. We introduce veggies and fish."

Along the lines of the "occasional treat" and cheat meals, there's a conscious point to still keep the champ happy.

"When he is hungry he gets grouchy," the rep continued. "So I keep him fed. He works out very hard and his training days are rough so I keep him fuelled and happy."

Ruiz was 267 pounds when he defeated Joshua by seventh-round TKO on June 1 to become the first Mexican world heavyweight champion. However, he is aiming to come into the rematch at a targeted weight of 255 pounds.

So, what will his meal plan look like during training camp? Here's a glimpse, as reported by Sky Sports (you can read the full article here).

Omelette is the breakfast of champions

"We wake up and have an omelette with mushroom and spinach and avocado. I switch up the meats. Sometimes he asks for hash browns too."

Andy Ruiz Jr. still eats the occasional steak

"Whenever we can fit in a steak, we do. We try to keep the steak leaner and I try to give him more chicken or fish, if I can."

Popcorn, tacos as cheat meals

"During camp we will cheat. In the last camp we would go to the movies at the weekend and he would have popcorn. But the tacos are our getaway on Friday night, our cheat meal. There is a place we go to where he eats tacos. But nothing too crazy."
