Andy Ruiz Jr. will face Damian Knyba at Newark's Prudential Center on September 4, with Vito Mielnicki Jr. set to battle Austin Williams in the co-main feature.
The Mexican-American, a former unified heavyweight champion, will bid to reignite his career in the latest edition of The Fight, live on TNT Sports and DAZN.
Having last fought to a draw against Jarrell Miller two years ago, Ruiz is hoping a new deal with Matchroom Boxing can launch him back towards the summit.
He faces Knyba, the tough Polish star who most recently faced WBC champion Agit Kabayel for the German's then-interim strap in Oberhausen last January.
"After we get this victory, I would love to fight all the guys that have the belts," Ruiz said in a statement. "We’re going to become a two-time champion next year."
Mielnicki Jr. meanwhile will return to the venue that hosted his professional debut in 2019 as he takes on the challenge of ex-middleweight contender 'Ammo'.
"Every fight is another chapter in my story, and I'm ready to write my biggest one yet,” he added. "This is my time. Every sacrifice I've made has prepared me."
“When that bell rings, fans are going to see a fighter who is hungry, confident, and ready to prove he belongs among the elite. I'm coming to make a statement."
