Hearn to 'fight' for Catterall's world title shot
Eddie Hearn, who promotes Jack Catterall, has not taken too kindly to comments from manager Keith Connolly about 'El Gato' not being given his mandatory shot against WBA welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez.
Lopez beat Rolando Romero last month to become a three-weight world champion, but 'The Takeover' has since expressed his intentions to face the winner of next weekend's fight between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn.
Speaking to reporters, Hearn stated that the WBA has called for the winner of Romero-Lopez to face Catterall next, and is ready to fight tooth and nail for his man to get his chance at glory.
"We have emails from the WBA saying Jack will fight the winner next. That is it," Hearn said.
"And I will fight like a motherf—r to make sure that that is honoured, because if we're going to support these governing bodies in this war that's going on at the moment, you have to play by the rules, and you have to do everything that's fair under the rules that effectively you have written.”

Bentley mandatory challenger named
WBO middleweight champion Denzel Bentley is set to have Cuba's Yoenli Hernandez named as his mandatory challenger, according to BoxingScene.
Hernandez extended his unbeaten record to 11-0 last month when he beat Francisco Daniel Veron by majority decision.
The Cuban is also the number one-ranked contender with the WBA, but it appears he will go down the WBO route despite no timeline for negotiations having been set by the sanctioning body.
