And it was a night of good vibes from start to finish for boxing's reigning undisputed super middleweight world champion as Gervonta Davis visited him backstage at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas prior to the fight.
The two have expressed their admiration for each other, making the moment all the more special as they posed for a few photos together and embraced.
Alvarez had another noteworthy moment following his win when Ryan Garcia visited him in his locker room, marking a heartfelt reunion.
Garcia was previously trained by Canelo's trainer Eddy Reynoso before falling out with the camp.
Whatever frigid feelings that lingered seem to thaw last month when Canelo and Reynoso wished Garcia well prior to his own fight with Devin Haney — a bout in which "King Ry" upset his rival dating back to the amateurs.
