Shields teases next fight against Olympic gold medallist

Broadcast live on DAZN, Shields returns to the middleweight division for the first time since 2023 when she faces WBA and WBC champion Kaye Scott. 

Shields may have dropped three weight divisions for this bout, but she will be an overwhelming favourite to win as she continues to cement herself as one of, if not the best fighter in the history of women's boxing. 

Shields teases fight against Olympic gold medallist

If Shields does get past Scott at Atlanta's State Farm Arena, then she has a British star and Olympic gold medallist in her sights. 

"I don’t want to overlook Kaye Scott, but I’m planning, once I get the win over her, I will have a big fight against Lauren Price at 160," Shields told DAZN News.

"Two Olympic gold medallists facing each other. One from America, one from the UK.

"It’s two undefeated fighters, I think it’s one of the biggest fights in women’s boxing."

Shields and Price appear to be on a collision course after the pair faced off following the latter's successful unified welterweight title defence against Stephanie Pineiro. 

When it comes to a possible date for this showdown, all roads are leading to the first half of 2027. 

What is Shields' record against British opponents? 

Whenever the Shields-Price fight gets made official, it will be the third time the self-proclaimed 'GWOAT' has gone up against someone from the British Isles. 

Her first clash with a British opponent came in 2018 when she beat Hannah Rankin by unanimous decision for the WBA, WBC and IBF middleweight titles.

Four years later, Shields faced old amateur rival Savannah Marshall in a historic all-women's event at London's O2 Arena for the undisputed middleweight championship. 

The build-up was dominated by an amateur meeting between the pair, which Marshall won, but when it came to their fight in the professional ranks, Shields did enough to win by unanimous decision.
