Paulie Malignaggi has launched a scathing attack on Conor Benn following the Brit’s recent win over Regis Prograis in London.
Benn, who has been under scrutiny in recent months after leaving Matchroom for Zuffa Boxing , was having his first fight under his new promoter and he failed to impress against the former world champion.

During the build-up, injury rumours had surrounded Prograis’ camp which led many to believe that Benn would win easily, but the Essex fighter was forced to work hard despite emerging as a wide winner on the scorecards.
Since beating Chris Eubank Jr last year and settling the series with his great rival, he has been linked to many high-profile fights including battles with Ryan Garcia and Shakur Stevenson.
DAZNBenn has yet to win a world title despite operating around a decent level for many years, but after Saturday’s performance, Malignaggi is almost certain that Benn will never become one.
The former two-weight world ruler shared the ring with many elite operators including Miguel Cotto and Amir Khan, and now, as one of the sport’s shrewdest analysts, the New York man has gone hard on Benn.
“I’m done guys. This guy is horrible, this guy is terrible,” said Malignaggi when assessing Benn’s perofrmance against Prograis with talkSPORT.
“This guy will never be a world champion. I understand the fanaticism about Benn and the entertainment side. He’s not a bad, bad fighter. He’s okay.
“He looks like dog doo doo in the fight. It’s not like he even looked good against a shot Regis Prograis.”
