'Just noise!' - Benn unfazed by Garcia rants before title tussle

The Briton will challenge the WBC welterweight champion for his crown at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this September.

Following a protracted period of negotiations, neither man has held back on the other's ability in a succession of verbal spats.

But speaking to Sky Sports News ahead of his biggest career test to date, Benn insists he is not distracted from his main task.

"It's all just noise," he stated. "It doesn't really concern me, [it] doesn't bother me. I'm just coming there to take his title off him.

"I plan on getting a stoppage. I'm going to go in there and do what I do, which is plant one on his chin and try and put him to sleep.

"I prepare diligently hard and always put the work in. I've taken it with both hands and I'm coming in there to cause havoc."

Benn previously revealed this month that his title shot against Garcia would be the last encounter of his career at welterweight.

The star contested last year's duology with Chris Eubank Jr. at middleweight and has faced a difficult cut to trim back down.

A catchweight contest with Regis Prograis in April proved a stepping stone, but Benn nevertheless will move on after this bout.

There's undoubtedly a school of thought that Conor Benn may not be worth his shot at the WBC crown amid a crowded division.

But if there's one thing that can be said for the Briton, it's that he knows how to hype and sell a bout with his eyes closed now.

There will be no further shortage of drama in the weeks before he meets Ryan Garcia for a Sin City showdown this September.

Yet the time is coming for him to put his money where his mouth is, and cash in on the belief he can topple the champion too.

It promises to be a fascinating chapter for both men, at the very least - and a turning point perhaps for Benn in particular as well.
