Allen promises Toby Carvery trip for Hrgovic before homecoming

Dave Allen quipped Filip Hrgovic is too good-looking for his own good as he promised the star a Toby Carvery after their fight.
'The White Rhino' faces 'El Animal' in a major homecoming show at Doncaster's Eco-Power Stadium on May 16, live on DAZN.
Despite backyard advanage, Allen arrives as a big outsider, with Hrgovic viewed as a likely world title contender-in-waiting.
But at a launch conference, the star quipped he would show the Croatian the sights, before underlining what the occasion means.

"I'd keep him away from all the women!" he cracked. "I'd take him to the Toby Carvery. But there is nothing past him [for me].
"I'm a stepping stone towards a world title fight for Filip. But he's my world title fight, he's my cup final. This is everything to me.
"This could be my one and only chance to headline in Doncaster. Even four weeks ago, I didn't dream of an opportunity like this.
"This was never going to happen for me. This is the one . This is everything. I'm putting it all in for this night, whatever happens."
Hrgovic admitted in turn that he had been surprised by the fight, but accepted the trip to South Yorkshire as he eyes bigger things.
"The plan [is] to ruin the party," he added. "Sorry, but that's my job. But I'm not going to take him lightly. He's a brave, durable guy.
"I know he's coming to fight. I wasn't expecting this fight. I was calling out Fabio Wardley, Daniel Dubois or Agit Kabayel in Germany.
"I was hoping for that kind of fight. I'm looking forward to becoming champion, if I ever do. But first, I must take care of Dave Allen."

You can never count Dave Allen out, can you? Even the Doncaster native seems surprised how his fortunes have turned to here.
Having been poised to hang up his gloves after one last payday at the end of 2024, the star faces his biggest night yet this May.
Any boxer who gets to headline a hometown stadium show has undoubtedly caught the hearts and minds of their fanbase.
Yet a jovial Allen will have to make good on his promise of new sides to his game against Filip Hrgovic, who will be out for blood.
The Croatian made no secret of the fact this is a diversion for him. If he gets into top gear, Allen could be in for a tough evening.
