More heavyweights are coming to Matchroom Boxing.
The promotional outfit revealed on Thursday that they have signed British heavyweight David Adeleye to a multi-fight deal. His debut wasn't announced at the time of writing.
The 29-year-old from Ladbroke Grove in London is 14-2 with 13 of those victories coming by knockout. Adeleye is excited about the move from Queensberry to Matchroom with the goal of making the move towards becoming a future heavyweight champion.
"I have signed a multi-fight deal with the plan to get out twice this year, so I cannot wait to get the ball rolling," Adeleye said in a statement.
“Of course, there were a lot of offers on the table. But, for me, I want to become the heavyweight champion of the world. Matchroom is the company that can do that for me. They know boxing. They understand fighters, and I feel like the professionalism they have already shown me bodes well for what is to come. I just can’t wait to get started and eventually be holding a world title.”
According to Adelaye's statement, the plan is for him to get in two fights by the end of 2026. He last competed back in August 2025, losing by unanimous decision to current IBF titlist Filip Hrgovic.
Britain's Conor Benn looks to become a world champion for the first time against US superstar Ryan Garcia on Saturday, September 12.
