Demetrius Andrade vs. Jason Quigley odds, prediction and betting trends
Andrade vs. Quigley on DAZN (Except Uzbekistan)

The next major boxing event takes place on Friday evening from Manchester, N.H.

The main event has WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade's continued pursuit of a big fight as he takes on Jason Quigley.

As always with a big-time boxing card, there are certainly plenty of bets to be made. Let's take a look at some of them.

Demetrius Andrade vs. Jason Quigley odds

Demetrius Andrade: -1200
Jason Quigley: +700

(All odds via BetMGM)

BetMGM (as of Thursday, Nov. 18) has Andrade installed as a massive favorite — coming in at -1200, meaning you'd need to bet a whopping $1,200 just to win $100. Meanwhile, Quigley is a +700, meaning if you pluck down $100, you will win $700.

Since winning the vacant WBO belt against Walter Kautondokwa in October 2018, Andrade (30-0, 18 KOs) has successfully defended the title on four occasions. The two-weight world champion has been in search for a clash against Canelo Alvarez, Gennadiy Golovkin, and Jermall Charlo. But the door continues to be slammed shut on Andrade. Quigley stepped up to the plate and here we are.

Quigley's (19-1, 14 KOs) career got off to a roaring start by going undefeated in his first 16 fights. Then he suffered the defeat of his career, getting stopped by Tureano Johnson. Since then, he's reeled off three straight wins. The Irishman earned the title shot by defeating Shane Mosley Jr. via majority decision in May.

Andrade vs. Quigley prediction

It's not surprising whatsoever the odds are this high in favor of Andrade. Does that mean Quigley is a pushover? No, but it shows how dominant Andrade is.

The criticism of Andrade is he doesn't push the pace enough when he has a fighter in trouble and not going for the finish. The rebuttal to that is Andrade has finished two out of four opponents in his title reign.

On paper, Andrade is more skilled and a better fighter. But that doesn't mean Quigley is just going to show up, collect a paycheck, and lay down for Andrade. He's coming to win and is going to give 100 percent. But just because you will give it your all, that doesn't equate to victory.

The path to victory for Andrade is quite simple. The 2008 Olympian needs to establish the jab from the outset and remove Quigley's confidence. Andrade can win the fight based on that alone. I don't think he's going to go that route, though. Andrade is smart enough to know he needs an impressive win and has to stop Quigley inside the distance to do just that.

I like Andrade to win the fight quite easily as there isn't a path I can see for Quigley to spring the upset. Taking Andrade at -1200 is ridiculous unless you have Bill Gates type of money and are just looking for some fun. Quigley with the +700 isn't the worst idea as anything can happen in a fight.

The best chance to make some money is Andrade by stoppage at -160. Also, consider Andrade by late stoppage as he stopped Artur Akavov in the 12th round in his first title defense and then a ninth-round stoppage against Luke Keeler. You can get Andrade by KO in Round 9 at +1100, Round 10 at +1200, Round 11 at +1600, and Round 12 at +2000.

I think an Andrade finish happens late in the fight, so I would pluck down $100 on each of the final four rounds and net yourself a nice profit.

Muehlhausen's pick: Demetrius Andrade

Best odds: Demetrius Andrade via stoppage in either rounds 9, 10, 11 or 12.
