Eddie Hearn labels member of Conor Benn's team a 'dog' as he opens up on toxic split

It is almost two weeks since Conor Benn shocked the world by leaving Matchroom Boxing and joining Zuffa for a reported one fight deal.
The Essex welterweight had been promoted by Eddie Hearn since his professional debut. The pair looked to be a winning combination with Benn well on his way to being one of boxing’s biggest names.
As well as developing Benn into a major attraction, Hearn also put his reputation on the line in 2022 when he went out of his way to defend his fighter when Benn endured hardship following a failed frugs test before his scheduled bout with Chris Eubank Jr.
Hearn performed several interviews with huge outlets including a memorable trip to the Talksport studios to debate with Simon Jordan on the subject.
Eventually, Benn returned to the ring and his two-fight series with Eubank Jr saw his profile soar as he traded wins with his great rival obtaining a victory last November which has now become a platform to push on towards world titles .
Hearn, for now, will not accompany Benn when he next fights and he is now gone into detail about when he found out Benn’s intentions about joining Dana White’s group.
Despite feeling betrayed by Benn, the fighter’s legal team have also felt Hearn’s wrath after he reflected on the moment he was emailed by those looking after Benn’s interests.
“The way that it was done was probably the worst thing,” said Hearn when speaking to IFLTV .
“To receive an email in the tone that it was it was written was almost like we hadn’t worked together. And this is from Lee, his lawyer, who I reserve judgement on but still a dog unfortunately because you have to have the balls to say something, but I’d like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he knew this was appalling.
“You’re reading it and you’re like ‘do we even know you?’...it’s the way this has all been premeditated. This offer didn't just land on Conor Benn’s lap. They went out looking for it behind my back.”
