Errol Spence Jr. feels he's got something to prove to only one person

In a little more than 24 hours, former three-belt welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. returns from a three-year layoff to battle former super welterweight champion Tim Tszyu from Afterpay Arena in Sydney, Australia, live on DAZN PPV and Prime Video .
The last time Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) stepped inside the ring in July 2023, he got stopped by Terence Crawford. Growing sentiment around boxing is that Spence has a lot to prove in showing the world he's still among the elite and a pound-for-pound great. "The Truth" isn't seeing things that way as he makes his highly anticipated return. For Spence, it's only about proving a point to one person and one person only.
"There are definitely a lot of questions about how I’m gonna come back," Spence said at ThursdaI'm ready. I'm focused. Been training hard," Spence said at Thursday's final press conference. "I feel like not really any pressure on me because I'm not looking to prove anything to anybody. I'm looking to prove something to myself."
Before his hiatus, Spence had been regarded as perhaps one of the most exciting fighters at 147 pounds. Despite not competing for three years and moving up two weight classes to 160 pounds, Spence plans to hunt Tsyzu down and finish him inside the distance.
“I’m gonna put on a great show," Spence said. "We’re gonna both come to fight, and I guarantee you it’s gonna end early.”
