DAZN Fight Night Round-Up: Garner relentless on South Coast, Goldsmith strikes gold and a quick night for Collazo
Zayas vs. Ennis: Watch only on DAZN PPV - Saturday

It was a busy night of boxing on both sides of the Atlantic on Saturday night, and DAZN was at the heart of it.

In England, St Mary's, the home of Southampton Football Club, staged Ryan Garner's super featherweight clash against Italy's Michael Magnesi in what was an emotional evening for Garner who was fighting at the home of his favourite football team, and in front of thousands of his adoring fans.

Meanwhile in California, unified minimumweight champion Oscar Collazo faced late replacement Neirder Valdez at flyweight.

Here DAZN News rounds up the big talking points from Saturday's serving of the sweet science.

Garner sets up world title shot with relentless display

Just like the fire that accompanied his ringwalk at St Mary's, Ryan Garner brought the heat against Michael Magnesi.

For 12 rounds, Garner showed tremendous stamina, as punch after punch landed on Magnesi, but the Italian refused to buckle.

There were brief moments where Magnesi troubled Garner, but roared on by thousands of his fans, 'The Piranha' saw the contest through and is now the WBC interim super featherweight champion.

A world title fight awaits for Garner, and he will be hoping that it can once again be the home of Southampton where thousands more will pack out the stands.

Goldsmith upsets mediocre Pauls on Garner-Magnesi undercard

Bradley Goldsmith produced a career best performance on the Garner-Magnesi undercard, where he beat Brad Pauls in convincing fashion.

Pauls was on a high after his thrilling knockout against Shakiel Thompson three months ago, but he looked a shadow of that fighter.

Goldsmith managed to negate any serious threat with Pauls struggling to adjust to Goldsmith's southpaw stance.

With scores of 90-99, 90-99 and 97-92, Goldsmith is the new IBF international middleweight champion, and could now bring big fight nights to his home city of Coventry.

Arthur fails to use biggest weapon in defeat to Edmondson

One of the standout bouts on the undercard at St Mary's was the all-British light heavyweight clash between Lyndon Arthur and Lewis Edmondson.

For Edmondson, this ended 11 months of inactivity and he was facing an opponent in Arthur who appeared to be back to some form of his best after beating Bradley Rea last November for the European title.

Edmondson's awkward style frustarted Arthur, who failed to make any inroads and use his most effective weapon, his jab.

Arthur did come back in the second half of the 10-round contest, but it was not enough against Edmondson, who despite not throwing much was landing a lot of his punches and got the win by unanimous decision.

Collazo destroys late replacement Valdez

If there was one man who should have not been in a ring on Saturday night, it was Neider Valdez.

He was facing unified minimumweight champion Oscar Collazo in Oceanside, California after Collazo's original opponent, Joey Canoy had to withdraw from the bout due to visa issues.

Valdez was knocked down three times in round two before his corner threw in the towel, and now Collazo's attention quickly turns to a meeting with unified flyweight champion Ricardo Sandoval.

Zayas vs. Ennis - watch only on DAZN
