Ryan Garner is the new WBC interim champion following a thrilling points win over Michael Magnesi in Southampton.

In one of the best fights of the year, Garner and Magnesi gave it everything in their quest to claim the big prize, but Garner's extra edge when it mattered most was won him this fight.

Despite wide scorecards of 116-112, 118-110, and 119-109, Garner knew he had been in a hard fight.

British boxing has a new star in Garner and after delivering a big crowd at St Mary's Stadium, he could feature in even grander fights moving forward.
