
Moses Itauma’s world title coronation could come as soon as August 29 as the promising youngster goes for the vacant IBF heavyweight belt against the dangerous Filip Hrgovic.
Groomed for superstardom since his professional debut by Queensberry Promotions, Moses is on the verge of obtaining a piece of heavyweight glory following a run of impressive victories.
In recent years, Moses has demonstrated his impressive speed and power with numerous highlight reel knockouts against quality contenders such as Dillian Whyte and Jermaine Franklin.
Still only 21, Moses is still very much a work in project, but his career is expected to go to a completely different level if he is able to defeat Hrgovic later this month.
With a new youth movement taking place in boxing in all corners of the world due to fighters like Abdullah Mason, Curmel Moton, and Yuta Sakai impressing, Moses is very much in the mix and being a heavyweight will certainly aid his popularity.
Despite still not yet fulfilling anywhere near his potential, Frank Warren, the man who has expertly manoeuvred Moses to this position, has no doubts that his man is the next big thing.
“Everyone talks about him whenever I discuss boxing,” said Warren during a media roundtable hosted by Queensberry Promotions.
“Let me ask you a question – Who do you think is the hottest fighter at this moment in time in boxing? Who’s the hottest young fighter in the world? Everybody says that. American journalists, the American public. Anybody who's seen him.
“His fights have been on DAZN shown all around the world. All everybody talks about is Moses. He’s got a lot to carry on his shoulders. When you have things put on your plate, you also have a lot put on your shoulders. He’s carrying that, but he’s carrying it well.”
