Froch reveals whether Moses beating Hrgovic is bigger than Joshua's win over American world champion

Moses is fighting for the same IBF crown that Joshua won in 2016 when he lit up the O2 Arena in London to stop Charles Martin in two rounds. 

Martin became ruler just a few months earlier when he defeated Vyacheslav Glazkov after the Ukrainian was injured. 

Joshua was too good for Martin, and Moses will be hoping for a similar result when he tackles Filip Hrgovic on Saturday night at the same venue Joshua became champion. 

Moses enters the bout a significant favourite after racking up impressive stoppage wins over Dillian Whyte and Jermaine Franklin, but Hrgovic is expected to represent a far sterner test. 

If he can get the job done and become Britain’s latest heavyweight ruler, Froch, a former world champion at super-middleweight, has no doubt at all that Moses will have the better crowning moment. 

“Itauma beating Hrgović is a far better fight to win. It is a better scalp. Charles Martin was useless. He won a vacant title and never did anything,” said Froch when speaking to New Betting Sites . 

“Hrgović is a bona fide, solid, Eastern European menace. He is a good fighter, and he will give anyone a hard fight. 

“I think Itauma is going to be too quick, too fresh. I think he boxes rings around him for a few rounds and possibly gets the stoppage late on.  

“But it will be tough for him, provided he can take one on the chin, because I think Hrgović will hit him on the chin at some point. It is a great test for him. If he wins in style, it is a really good win.”
