George Liddard emphatically stops Dario Morello and immediately calls out this middleweight world champion

If George Liddard was going to hoist the European middleweight world title by Saturday night’s end, he would have to ace a stern test against Italian veteran Dario Morello.
That's exactly what the 24-year-old British rising star did, unleashing a steady flow of forward-fighting pressure and knocking down Morello in the eighth round. Morello’s corner retired the fighter before the ninth could start, punctuating Liddard’s big win at Copper Box Arena in London, and live on DAZN.
The roaring victory improved Liddard’s record to 15-0 with nine knockouts and ‘The Billericay Bomber’ didn’t hesitate to call out a world champion he’s familiar with at middleweight — WBO world champion Denzel Bentley — for a fight next.
“He’s got a world title, he can get it,” Liddard told DAZN of Bentley during his post-fight interview. “Me and him have shared many rounds over the years. I got a lot of respect for Denzel, and he’s a good fighter. I just believe I’m the best at 160 and I got to prove that.”
The Essex man proved he’s a growing force to be reckoned with Saturday night by applying nonstop pressure off the front foot against Morello.
Liddard knocked the Italian off balance in the second round, and that was a precursor of things to come as his stalking forward reached paydirt in the eighth when the British fighter made Morello taste the canvas with a compact right hand behind the ear.
Suffering from a bad cut with blood trickling into his right eye simultaneously, Morello looked spent when the round ended, and his corner decided their fighter had enough, giving Liddard his second win of 2026.
