Liddard sets European title bout with Morello for August

George Liddard will bid to become European middleweight champion when he takes on Dario Morello in London next month.
The Lonsdale Belt holder will return to York Hall on Saturday, August 22 in pursuit of the EBU strap, live worldwide on DAZN.
Liddard, who retained his British crown with a decision win against Tyler Denny in March, is pushing on towards world-level.
Now, he will bid to dethrone Italy's Morello in the biggest bout of his career thus far, with a view to bigger bouts down the line.
"Expect a vicious and dominant performance for as long as it lasts at York Hall," the star promised in a confirmation statement.
"I am looking forward to picking up another major title and taking another huge step towards becoming a world champion."
Liddard first earned his domestic straps with a late knockout triumph against Kieron Conway in Bethnal Green last October.
He followed it up with success against Denny, though he has vacated his Commonwealth crown ahead of facing Morello next.
