Hamzah Sheeraz secured world champion status at the second time of asking as he blew away Alem Begic inside two rounds at the Giza necropolis.
The Briton departed Egypt as the WBO super-middleweight champion after claiming the vacant strap with a ruthless performance in north-east Africa.
Having turned over Edgar Berlanga almost a year ago to announce his arrival in a new division, Sheeraz more than lived up to the hype once again.
But for Begic, it proved to be a chastening - and brief - evening that exposed his limitations as his opponent walked him down with chilling precision.

Hamzah Sheeraz
Having previously fallen short in his bid for middleweight glory last year, Sheeraz has taken like a duck to water at super-middleweight with serious skill.
This victory will paint a target on this back thanks to his newfound strap, but the star will likely be able to push for an opponent of his choice next up.
Sheeraz has made no secret of his desire to face Canelo Alvarez, but with the latter not out again until September, it is unlikely he will want to wait.
That could tee up a unification shot at either IBF champion Osleys Iglesias - last active in April - or WBA kingpin Jaime Munguia, who fought this month.
Alem Begic
The veteran German has amassed a good record on paper when it comes to victories, having been undefeated before stepping into the ring on Saturday.
But unlike Sheeraz, Begic's lack of big-fight experience against world-level operators, combined with his advancing years, proved too costly in the end.
Thirty-nine now, it seems like there will be few other opportunities for the star to progress - which could well lead to him considering retirement instead.
If not though, expect Begic to return to domestic and European level, where he will seek to rebuild against a lower-wattage opponent for his next move.
