Jaime Munguia set to face Maciej Sulecki on April 24

Jaime Munguia continues to make his trek to a shot at the middleweight title on Saturday, April 24, as he gets his toughest test to date at 160 pounds when he battles Maciej Sulecki from the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. The fight can be seen on DAZN in over 200 countries, excluding Mexico.
"There is no more exciting a middleweight in the world today than Jaime Munguia, and every time he fights, he brings huge knockout power into the ring," said Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy. "Sulecki is a tough customer who gave Danny Jacobs all he can handle, but if Munguia can pass this test, a world championship fight is right around the corner."
Munguia (36-0, 29 KOs), a former WBO junior middleweight champion, has made a giant splash in his first two middleweight bouts that occurred in 2020. The 24-year-old from Mexico scored an 11th-round TKO win over Gary "Spike" O'Sullivan in January 2020 and a sixth-round stoppage victory over Tureano Johnson at the end of October. Munguia is ready for another step-up in competition in his journey to becoming a two-division champion.

After losing to current WBO titlist Demetrius Andrade in June 2019, Sulecki (29-2, 11 KOs) rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Sasha Yengoyan in August. Sulecki views Munguia as his path towards another crack at the gold.
