Former world champion Parker cleared to fight after drug suspension lifted

Parker has not fought since being stopped by Fabio Wardley last October, and it was later revealed that he tested positive for cocaine on the day of the fight. 

An investigation had been taking place, but Parker has since confirmed that he is available to fight. 

"I'm pleased to confirm my provisional suspension is lifted and I'll be back in the ring soon," Parker said in a statement released to ESPN. 

"I've been advised to say no more for now while details are finalised. Thank you to all my supporters."

There has been no reason given as to why Parker failed the drugs test, but his team have claimed it was due to contamination and pleaded his innocence. 

Before losing to Wardley, Parker, who was once a world champion, was one of boxing's in-form fighters. 

The New Zealander amassed a six-fight winning streak which included success against Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang and Martin Bakole. 

There is yet to be any word from UK Anti-Doping and the British Boxing Board of Control when contacted by ESPN to respond to the news.
