Lauren Price is reportedly in talks to fight Claressa Shields in the near future, according to the BBC .
So the unified WBC, IBF, WBA and Ring Magazine welterweight world champion cannot afford a letdown when she puts her titles on the line against mandatory challenger Stephanie Pineiro this weekend. The fight takes place Saturday night at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff, Wales.
The undefeated southpaw Price (9-0, 2 KOs) became the unified champ last March by scoring a dominant unanimous decision over Natasha Jonas in London.
She clashes with an unbeaten Puerto Rican southpaw in Pineiro (10-0, 3 KOs) who closed out her 2025 with bustling activity via a second-round TKO of Marie Pier Houie in September before raising her profile further by defeating a solid Anahi Ester Sanchez by unanimous decision in November.
