On previous visits to Itauma’s homeland, Franklin has emerged with massive credit after pushing both Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte with solid efforts that saw him go the distance in both fights.
In Itauma’s last three fights, he has not entered the third round with two of those victories seeing him stop Demsey Mckean and Whyte in just a matter of seconds with explosive opening session victories.
A win on Saturday is likely to be the platform for Itauma to push on and challenge for a world title, but the heavy-handed youngster is also willing to test himself against the division's best contenders including WBC mandatory challenger, Agit Kabayel.
The unbeaten German has impressed in recent years, and he is desperate to test himself against Oleksandr Usyk for the unified belt.
If that fight does not materialise, Itauma has made it clear that he would be willing to travel to Germany to face Kabayel.
“Me and Kabayel in the summer,” said Itauma when speaking to The Ring .
"I don’t mind. I love Germany as well, so I don’t mind going to Germany and fighting him.“
