Itauma vs. Hrgovic fight will be similar to historic boxing classic says respected manager

Hrgovic and Moses will battle for the vacant IBF world heavyweight title, live on DAZN PPV and Ultimate Tier, and the Croatian is exuding confidence ahead of fight night.  

At Thursday's press conference, Hrgovic revealed that his condition going into this contest is the best he's felt for six years, and it was a sentiment echoed by his manager Connolly.

Just like his fighter, Connolly went on the verbal offensive, hailing Hrgovic's physical and mental transformation, and claiming a perfect storm is brewing for the Croatian to spoil the party at London's O2 Arena. 

"Filip’s in the best headspace I’ve ever seen him in. He had a great camp, no injuries, his body looks different, his mindframe is different," Connolly said.  

"He’s going around publicly saying he’s going to throw Moses back to high school, smash his face in. He truly believes it. 

"This is a perfect storm of events to upset what everybody wants, Moses to win the heavyweight title."

Connolly then gave his thoughts on the fight itself. 

After the American is likened it to Hagler-Hearns, he backed Hrgovic to make it an early finish against Moses with a knockout before it reaches the sixth round. 

"As I said a couple of months ago at the initial press conference, this is going to be a Hagler-Hearns type fight. I really see a knockout in the first three to five rounds. 

"Filip’s going to go out there and be very offensive and overwhelm Moses."

Hagler vs. Hearns is a contest which is still talked about to this day despite taking place 41 years ago. 

This legendary fight saw Hagler and Hearns meet for the undisputed middleweight title, with the opening round regarded as one of the most brutal in boxing history. 

In the end, Hagler triumphed in round three with a right hand which Hearns failed to recover from in Las Vegas.
