Twenty-one-year-old phenom Moses Itauma returns to the ring for his 2026 debut on Saturday when he battles heavyweight stalwart Jermaine Franklin from the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester, England, live and globally on DAZN.
Before Itauma and Franklin slug it out inside the ring, they had one final staredown at Friday's weigh-in.
Franklin stepped on the scales first and came in at 258.4 pounds. Then Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) came up and tipped the scales at 242.1. A friendly staredown ensued before Itauma and Franklin went their separate ways.
Franklin (24-2, 15 KOs)Â will be Itauma's toughest test to date, having gone the distance with Anthony Joshua and losing a majority decision to Dillian Whyte. Many are doubting Franklin but that's the way he likes it.Â
"I’ve been counted out all my life," Franklin said to DAZN after the weigh-in. "I do good coming from that situation."
Itauma and Franklin were supposed to fight at the end of January. But Itauma had to pull out due to injury and it got rescheduled to Saturday. The young prodigy is tired of talking and is ready to go into battle.
"It’s been a long time coming," Itauma said after the weigh-in.
"I see a man that’s ready to fight. It’s a recipe for a good fight."
